Since my sister, Diana Franks, was diagnosed with Multiple
Sclerosis in 1986, I have been a family caregiver. Along with her daughter
Colleen and other family members we have visited her, fed her, lifted her
spirits, laughed with her, cried with her, and, at the end of a day we leave
her in the care of some angel attendants in a facility.
Some years ago
I wrote a poem for my sister called “The One She Used To Be”. I have always
been a supporter of the MS Society – but I have decided that I wanted to do
something more tangible. I have created a Bookmark to raise money for MS
Research and Services and I have set a goal of raising $100,000. By purchasing
one or more (perhaps 10) Bookmarks, be assured that 100% of all proceeds will
be pledged toward my $100,000 goal and your name will be added as a donor on my
website. You will receive a Cdn tax deductible receipt and your donation
will be going towards MS research and services and helping to eliminate this
terribly debilitating disease.

To tug on your heartstrings a bit and hopefully reach for your wallet –
I’ve posted 4 pictures. The first is of my sister, Diana, and myself when we
were about 6 & 7 (and inseparable).
The 2nd one was taken of
my sister, her baby daughter Colleen, and myself in 1975 (before her
MS).
(That’s me on the right – man, was I ever that thin?!)
The 3rd photo is a picture of my parents, Bob & Vicki Beebe (who
passed in 2004 & 2005), with my niece Colleen, my sister, and her new
grandson Austin (picture taken 1997).
The 4th photo was taken of
myself and my sister, Christmas 2006 at my sister’s facility in Parksville,
B.C.
I’m just part of one family of so many in the world that are dealing with
loved ones with this disease. By purchasing a Bookmark (or 10 – one for each
family member & some friends), you will be contributing to research
necessary to end this disease once and for all. Or you may contribute directly

your contribution.
